China 24 hour Advance Manifest Regulation Update

The China 24 hour rule was first introduced in 2009, however its compliance has not been strictly enforced until now.

Effective immediately, ocean carriers must submit manifest details to China Customs a minimum of 24 hours prior to cargo loading. The rule is applicable to all imports into, exports from and cargo transhipped via mainland Chinese ports.

In order to comply with the rule, we will require complete and accurate shipping instructions to be submitted 2 days prior to vessel cut off at the port of load.  Failure to lodge shipping instructions before the documentation cut-off deadline may result in Customs penalties or your container not being shipped.  Any fines levied or shut out costs incurred due to late or incorrect shipping instructions will be for account of cargo.
