The union representing Customs and Border protection workers is threatening more industrial action if last-minute talks fail.
The Community and Public Sector Union is to hold talks with management today, national secretary Nadine Flood said. She said the union would take action on Thursday if the negotiations failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion.
The CPSU wants an improve pay offer, Ms Flood said. "Staff in both agencies have rejected an offer of 3 per cent a year over three years because they want a deal that matches the rising cost of living, "she said. More than sixty Customs and Border Protection sites across Australia are expected to be part of the action on Thursday if a deal is not reached.
The CPSU is expected to make a statement after negotiations conclude.
